Christmas Eve in Carlos Cesares

It is Christmas Eve day and we got our weekly letter from Elder Ethan Merrill much earlier in the day than we normally do. He talks a little bit about the mission get-together at the mission home in Bahia Blanca:

I´m writing a little bit earlier this week because we don´t know if things will be closed later on today. We´ll see how it all turns out, but I hope that things are still open, we still need to buy groceries for the week. I know that because this is so early, you won´t have time to write back, but I get to call you tomorrow, so that´ll be fun.
The conference was pretty fun, we all brought a present and so we got a random one from someone else. We all had to bring a gift for Jesus too, but this was a personal one from the heart, so its one of those "it´s your own deal if you want to do it or not."

Then he gives us the plan for calling home on Christmas day (woohoo!):

I will try to call the house at about 9 in the morning. The time for me is about 4 hours ahead, so I will call at about 1 in the afternoon my time. With this time, I hope its not an inconvenience with opening presents and what not, [NEVER!!!!] but I think that this is one of the better times for me. We´ll see how it all turns out. I don´t think I can do skype here....If something comes up in the next 24 hours, I´ll call through skype, but I really doubt it.
I had no idea that you guys were watching a dog! I can imagine sparky wasn´t too happy about that. We have a pet of our own here. He never comes in the house but he´s always outside and waiting for us to come out, then when we do, he follows us everywhere. we´re not really sure why.
Ohhhhh, the humidity here is killing us. I´m a bit more used to it now but I want a couple of cool days every now and again. I think that its about 80 or so, but the humidity is crazy. sorry, I haven´t seen a package from you yet, but I think I might get it on Wednesday. 1 day late, but I´m not picky, just so long as I get it.
With all the time I´ve been gone I wonder if things will be different. These little things like a new neighbor, or renovating the school, or construction being completed, things are small changes for you guys but a big wave of difference when I get back, so it should be interesting.
I can´t wait to call you guys tomorrow, I´m so exited to hear all your voices again! Although we´re not together for Christmas, This time is going by so fast that I can hardly believe that we´re coming up on my year mark! One more Christmas and then we´re together again! talk to you all tomorrow! love you!
