Saying hi to Elder Ethan Merrill ~ another blessing to our day

July 9, 2013
Mom: YOU LOOK WONDERFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  WOOHOOOOOOO!  Love the pics son!!!! Gosh I love ya! Hope your week went well and that you are doing great! You really look fantastic! Yep, we like the pictures a lot! So if I had to guess, I would say you have the top bunk and also, if I had to guess, I would say you appear to be longer than your bed - lol. Love Mom

Elder Merrill: yep, I´m writing you my letter now so I´ll chat after I finish writing
you. Love you!  -me

Mom: Hey super fantastic son! Yeah, Dad just got home from work and so I read your letter to him and showed him your pictures and he sends his love and says you look pretty healthy and strong! Is that coat you are wearing the extra one you are borrowing? Is that working out ok? Do you need anything? I know last week you said you were fine, and hopefully you still are, but again, if you need to get yourself clothes or gear, please don't hesitate. :)
Yeah, the church says no driving for scout activities on Sunday, which is ok, but it makes for a crazy drive in the wee hours next week.  But it will be a really good adventure for the boys. I have to remember to get Kyle some anti-seasickness medicine too, just in case.
I did like the old historical house. One of the interesting parts was the kitchen and the things they used to cook roasts and vegetables and such. Cooking today is SOOOO much easier, lol, but they were pretty clever.
So Elder Dakota Roy, your cousin who is serving in the Philippines, said in his letter last week that he was pregnant and had his baby this week, meaning he is training a greenie. Missionary lingo is WEIRD!!!! But also strangely appropriate, lol. How are you doing with your duties? You always were so excellent at doing service and doing chores and doing the work that needs to do be done, so I bet while it may be more work for you, that you are a good companion and leader.  SURE LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   Mom

Elder Merrill: Heya!!  Yeah, I gotta say, a lot of missionaries gain weight on the mission, and I´ve done the same, but I´m still pretty fairly skinny. And like I say, it´s not really cold at all. I think it gets colder in Arizona during the winter really. And there´s only 1 winter that I have to deal with here. So, I´m all good really.
I bet the museum thing was fun. Dad also said you went to an aquarium, those are always cool.   I´m not gonna lie, that´s some pretty weird language in the mission, we don´t use phrases like that here. But we do use a lot like trunky and trucho. Dakota started his mission at about the same time as me, right?
Heya, it´s about that time for me to go now.   I hope that you guys enjoy your last day in North Carolina! I´ll see ya next week! That´s when you´ll be taking Kyle to California right? I hope that you guys have fun with life and all and just know that I´m praying for you all and that things are going good here for me! I love you and I´ll see you all next week! love you lots! bye!!!

                             -Elder Ethan Merrill
